About the role
Do you have experience in and enjoy helping others, in particular young people? Our security officers are vital in keeping students, staff, visitors and our buildings safe. They are friendly and diligent and work hard to contribute to the success of the University. As part of a close knit and loyal team, you will be involved in patrolling the campus, engaging one-to-one with students who need some support, responding to alarms and incidents and a whole lot more. No two days are the same and will always keep you interested. A current full driving licence (manual transmission) is essential as you will be driving University of Plymouth vehicles.This role is also subject to health surveillance with our Occupational Health team.
Due to the nature of the role, unfortunately we are unable to accommodate working from home.
This role will require an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check plus a Adult's Barred List check.

You will be required to work shift patterns covering 24/7 x 365 days per year. You will be working annualised hours and rostered 1 August – 31 July each year. However, a small proportion of your contracted hours will be “banked” to provide essential cover for unplanned absence and training. It is expected that this balance will be zero by the end of each financial year.
