The School of Biological and Marine Sciences wishes to appoint an experienced Technical Project Support Officer, to help deliver the research projects of the aMER (Applied Marine Ecosystems Research) unit at the University of Plymouth. This dynamic research group focuses on answering applied marine ecology questions to inform environmental management, using a variety of survey techniques including benthic video surveys and marine animal tracking (acoustic telemetry). This is an exciting and varied position involving substantial boat-based fieldwork in coastal seas around southern England, working with a range of stakeholders including fishers and fisheries managers.
You will primarily support the Principal Investigator (PI) Dr Emma Sheehan and her research group to plan and deliver fieldwork campaigns for two Fisheries Industry Science Partnership projects: Pollack FISP and Angling for Sustainability.
The role will involve supporting the planning, organisation and undertaking of boat and/or shore-based fieldwork activities, overseeing the maintenance and organisation of the team's kit/equipment, data management and analysis, and contributing to the group's academic outputs.
There is an essential requirement within this role that you will be required to travel to and work at different University sites and/or other business locations that may not be easily accessible by public transport. Please refer to the job description for further information.

This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week on a fixed-term basis ending Monday 31 March 2025 due to Funding.
