This post will support University academics and researchers to secure funding that will deliver applied research outcomes. R&I plays a crucial role in supporting the University to secure funding for research across a diverse range of disciplines from the creative arts to medicine. You will work closely with academics across all disciplines and support the creation of impactful relationships between them and external organisations.
This role reflects the University’s increased focus on maximising research income and is fundamental to achieving our ambitious objective to drive a real step change in the scale of funding the University secures for its research, across all Faculties. This role is focussed on developing and submitting high quality grant applications from a range of funding sources including Innovate UK, Office for Students, Research England and regional funding opportunities such as the Shared Prosperity Fund.
The role sits within a wider team that also targets more traditional forms of research funding and supports the commercialisation of Intellectual Property.
We are looking for an experienced, creative and enthusiastic individual to join our team with a demonstrable track record of working on successful funding applications. Experience of the development of collaborative applications involving internal and external partners and stakeholders is essential. You will ideally have a background in project development and grant capture, although wider experience will be considered. A demonstrable ability to engage partners from a range of different sectors will be essential as will exceptional communication skills, particularly the ability to take complex ideas and information and present them in a way that is accessible and exciting for different audiences.
Please demonstrate how you meet the essential criteria outlined in the knowledge, qualifications, training and experience elements of the job description in your supporting statement.
