The role:We are looking for a graduate to take the lead role to transfer and embed new materials capability into Wessex GRP Products Ltd creating a platform for innovative product development, optimising process efficiency and reducing environmental impact.

The person: You will have graduated within the last 3 years with a BSc / BEng / MEng honours degree 2.1 or above in Materials Science or Engineering-related discipline. We are particularly interested in those who have experience and commercial exposure (e.g. gained through work or an industrial placement) of research and development within an engineering or manufacturing capacity. A good understanding of materials performance development and creative design, material selection and characterisation, procedures and manufacturing process control, data acquisition and analysis. An ability to use modelling software (e.g. CAE/CAD/CAM) for creative design solutions is highly desirable as would 2D and 3D design skills. The Associate must have well developed IT skills using Microsoft Office, excellent investigative, analytical and report writing. The successful applicant must be a highly motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills, a mature and confident attitude to work so they can rapidly become the driving force to meet the demands of this strategic project. The Associate will be expected to work closely with resins and adhesives.

Knowledge Transfer Partnerships:Employed by Plymouth University on a 2 year fixed term contract with the possibility of continuing employment with Wessex GRP Products Ltd, you will work under the supervision of experts from the School of Marine Science and Engineering. You will be based at Wessex GRP Products Ltd in Dorset.
