Plymouth University Peninsula Schools of Medicine and Dentistry (PU PSMD) has an exciting suite of taught Masters programmes and is seeking to appoint an Associate Professor (Senior Lecturer) / Lecturer in postgraduate education (Remote and Global Healthcare).
You will be highly motivated and passionate about developing and delivering education for doctors, dentists and other related healthcare professionals and will have previous experience of teaching either within an academic setting or within a healthcare education setting.
Principally, you will work in conjunction with clinical and academic colleagues on the design, development, University approval and delivery of the Masters in Remote and Global Healthcare, but will be required to contribute to relevant modules on other postgraduate programmes, as necessary. This will include the development of a programme of continuing professional development (CPD) modules to complement the business delivery of the School, as well as the development and implementation of innovative teaching practices.
You will hold an MSc or equivalent in an area relevant to medicine, dentistry, healthcare or education and be a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (or be able to achieve this within 12 months of appointment). A postgraduate qualification in education/teaching is essential if applying at Associate Professor (Senior Lecturer) level. Experience of working in remote and/or global healthcare in a clinical or leadership role is desirable.
This will be a Plymouth University appointment based at the Plymouth Science Park at Derriford in Plymouth.
This is a part-time position working 18.5 hours (0.5 WTE) a week on a 2 year fixed term basis. Job share will be given consideration.
