The School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences wishes to appoint a Research Fellow for the EU INTERREG funded project: "Intelligent community Energy" (ICE).
The ICE project aims to develop and implement innovative sustainable energy solutions for isolated territories and "energy islands". Working with selected communities and other partner institutions involved in the project, the post-holder will undertake social research on attitudes and behavioural responses to energy issues and different technological, informational and incentive-based energy interventions. The post will also involve the production of project deliverables and other research outputs.
Geography at Plymouth is a successful and collegiate subject community, comprising 25 full-time academic staff and well-resourced technical facilities. In addition, Geography has strong academic links with the University's Sustainable Earth Institute and Marine Institute. You will be an enthusiastic team player with expertise in qualitative and quantitative social research. Prior experience of energy issues and research with communities from different ethnic and national backgrounds are also desirable. You will possess self-leadership and excellent verbal and written communication skills, and maintain strong collaborative links with partner organisations.

This is a full-time position commencing in April 2018, working 37 hours per week on a two-year fixed-term basis.
