The Next Steps Cornwall Outreach Officer will support the Cornwall outreach provision for the South West National Collaborative Outreach Programme (NCOP). This programme is funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) to encourage awareness of, and access to, Higher Education for identified individuals from target groups in schools where progression to HE is low.
This is a unique opportunity to support the work of a collaboration of key stakeholders, comprising all the universities and FE/HE colleges in Cornwall, Devon and Somerset. You assist in the delivery of core outreach projects in Cornwall, in line with strategy and direction from the Next Steps Cornwall Team Leader. Relationship-building with internal stakeholders is central to the role, in particular with the other Next Steps Outreach Officers in the central team and those for Somerset and Cornwall. You will liaise with external stakeholders including target schools in Cornwall and other partner organisations.
Line management of this post will be through University of Plymouth, as the lead institution for Next Steps. The location of this post will be based at an institution in Cornwall; there will be a requirement to travel within the South West.
This is a full-time post working 37 hours per week on a fixed-term basis until December 2018 in the first instance. Clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service will be required for this position.
