The School of Engineering represents Civil and Coastal Engineering, Mechanical and Marine Engineering and Navigation with a very strong focus on marine renewable energy, coastal engineering and composites and metallic materials. It has an excellent research profile and acknowledged teaching expertise; alongside this there is access to exceptional research and teaching facilities, including a Marine Station which operates a range of boats. The University has a new GBP 19m Marine Building which contains state-of-the-art wave tanks for modelling coastal engineering structures and offshore device interactions, and a ship bridge simulator.The School is seeking to strengthen the civil engineering agenda via the appointment of a Lecturer whose core discipline is civil/structural engineering and who has a strong track record in structural engineering, particularly in structural design.You will join a dynamic group of academic and support staff with a brief to develop complementary research and teaching in core teaching areas of civil engineering.This is a part time position working 14.8 hours per week on a 4 year fixed term basis.
