This is an exciting opportunity to join the MSc Physician Associate Studies Programme team in the Peninsula Medical School. This established programme started in 2015, and has graduated 3 cohorts of students working as PAs across the South West.
Peninsula Medical School has an established reputation for its clinical education, and the Physician Associate programme, which is delivered within the Medical School alongside the BMBS programme, is an established programme with an exceptional record of graduate success at the National Examination. The PA programme is embedded within the Medical School at Peninsula Medical School, and you would be joining an established and experienced team of clinical and non-clinical academics involved in delivery of the programme.
This post would be appropriate if you are a qualified Physician Associate, a healthcare professional, or hold a PhD in a relevant healthcare or biomedical science.
The Role:
* PA ambassador working with HEE to support implementation of PAs in primary care and expansion and development of the role locally and nationally
* Promote workforce integration of PAs across the South West, helping to address clinical workforce need
* Honorary Clinical Lecturer (Physician Associate Studies), supporting curriculum delivery and development
* Work with the HEI and key NHS stakeholders to promote and support student clinical placements
* Provide clinical support as a Lead PA in GP practices across the South West, as defined by the host institution
* Provide support to PAs and PA students, including career and recruitment advice locally and nationally
* Be part of a PA ambassador network identifying and promoting opportunities for PAs in the South West and beyond.
The Person:
* You will be an active and engaged Physician Associate, passionate about supporting and developing the role in the NHS
* You will work well in teams, but will also be able to work autonomously and manage your time effectively
* You will be an excellent communicator and have evidence of working effectively with patients, students, and other healthcare practitioners
* You will have a proven track record of high quality clinical care and will be registered with the PAMVR
* You will be enthusiastic and ready for a challenge.

This is a permanent contract. This post is for 2 part-time positions working 18.5 hours (2.5 days) per week, however a full-time appointment would be considered and the division of this post may be negotiated.
