BA (Hons) Graphic Communication with Typography is a vibrant course of study in the School of Art, Design and Architecture, in the Faculty of Art & Humanities. The programme promotes excellence in Tyographic practice and is well established, including connected exit Awards - Branding and Identity, Editorial and Publishing and also Information Design. Importantly, the course has a close relationship with the Message research cluster as well as important industry partnerships.
We are seeking a lecturer with HE teaching experience to support primarily undergraduate study, contributing to practical and theoretical teaching in order to develop student creativity that is supported by a solid work methodology. You may also be involved in delivery at postgraduate MA level.
You should be able to evidence an evolving teaching profile appropriate to this role as well as professional and practical experience. You must be able to inspire students and exhibit the necessary technical skills to teach in the field (including applied/digital).
A high level degree in a relevant discipline is essential. We will also consider applications that evidence extensive practical or industrial experience in relevant areas, with aspirations to engage in meaningful research, innovation, commercialisation and public engagement.
Working closely with existing team, you will be take part in curriculum development and course management as required. The role also includes delivery of teaching/lectures, module leadership, personal tutoring, assessment and feedback, maintaining quality of delivery as well as organisation of educational field trips/visits, visiting lectures, career spines, student work placements and end of year shows as required.
