As a Developer, working as part of the Solution Delivery Team for Technology and Information Services, you will conduct development work to deliver IT solutions that meet business needs and provide a good user experience. This will include design, development/configuration and testing. You will be assigned to a Portfolio Team and work in the following areas: web development, configuration/customisation of business applications, bespoke application development, database development.
You will be working as part of an agile team delivering technical aspects of projects to high standards using agile methods. The team follow agile and lean development methods and aim to deliver little and often.
Through their activities each team member contributes to a positive student experience, supporting students throughout their journey, from enquiry to alumni, providing a culture that engages students as genuine partners with the University of Plymouth.
Qualifications:
* Educated to Bachelor degree level or holds relevant professional qualifications in software development.
Experience and Knowledge:
* Excellent communication - written and verbal* Demonstrate an understanding of analysis, design, development and testing.* Demonstrates a logical, analytical approach to problem solving and pays close attention to detail * A good understanding of information systems concepts and practice * A good understanding of the development lifecycle, and the role of software testing
These are full-time positions working 37 hours per week on a permanent basis.
