You will be a practitioner or academic teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and contributing to the ongoing development of the subject group. The role will have the potential to significantly enhance our research focus in Game & Experience Design. You will contribute to practical and theoretical teaching and research in:
Accountable to the Associate Professor in Digital Art & Technology, we require someone with academic critical skills combined with practical digital art & technology software, hardware and design experience. You will have HE teaching experience and games/design industry experience would be desirable. The post will also involve teaching internationally with our transnational education partners (e.g. Nanjing University of Arts) and in the UK.
You will have strong communication and presentation skills and be expected to be responsible for curriculum development and module delivery. Key aspects of the role include delivery of teaching/lectures, responsibility for the module, supervision of practical and theoretical study, personal tutoring, assessment and feedback, maintaining quality of delivery as well as organisation of educational field trips/visits, visiting lectures, career spines, student work placements, student competitions and end of year shows as required.
You will be responsible for developing and maintaining good working relationships in the University, in industry and beyond, and to ensure the overall aims of the subject group are met. Being highly motivated and an excellent communicator, you will contribute to research and enterprise activities including involvement in publications, grants, impactful dissemination, and public engagement, as well as contributing to external profile and recruitment events for the subject group and school.

i-DAT is a vibrant open research lab for playful experimentation with creative technology, situated in the School of Art, Design and Architecture, within the Faculty of Art, Humanities and Business. It includes undergraduate and postgraduate level courses, as well as a substantial and established PhD community.
We also have strong international connections with Nanjing University of the Arts (NUA) and an international Postgraduate Research network with Jiangnan University, NUA and Soochow University.
