An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Research Fellow with expertise in qualitative methods and health services research to join the Faculty of Health: Medicine, Dentistry and Human Sciences. You will be responsible for the development and leadership of a programme of research and implementation within the National Institute for Health Research's Peninsula Applied Research Collaboration (PenARC).
This is an exciting opportunity for you to develop and lead a programme of work within PenARC working collaboratively with leading academics, key stakeholders and communities both locally and nationally. Based in the Community and Primary Care Research Group you will lead or support the establishment of a programme of research and implementation activity relating to one or more of the following: multi-morbidity, frailty and long term conditions; mental health; delivering personalised care and/or addressing inequalities; hospital based redesign; primary care networks and integrated care. An important part of the role will be to build on opportunities and partnerships with leading health services researchers across the Universities of Plymouth and Exeter as well as interacting with NHS and health and social care providers both across the South West and nationally, including contributing to evaluation and implementation. You will be expected to lead and develop research teams and projects that may be located in several geographical regions.
You will have an active role in identifying and developing health services research at local, regional and national level and will expected to be a co-applicant or principal investigator for seeking external funding, promoting the research programme and disseminating the outcomes.
You will possess a relevant PhD or equivalent qualification in a health services research or related field of study. You will have excellent knowledge of UK health services and social care research sufficient to enable innovation and new understanding in the field, as well as skills in the application of mixed methods to health services research. Expertise in intervention development and evaluation is desirable.

This is a fixed-term position until 30th September 2024 due to funding.
