Technical Assistant (Paper Store)
Description
The Faculty of Arts & Humanities has a vacancy for a Technical Assistant in our Paper Store.
The role is to provide routine technical support for the Faculty by providing a materials sales and procurement service. This role supports the Faculty students, and specifically, Scott Building-based Workshops and their Technicians.
As a Technical Assistant
at University of Plymouth, you will be expected to ensure that technical support is of the highest standard to enhance the student experience, employability of our students and the reputation of the Faculty, School and University.
You will be educated to GCSE A*-C grade, preferably to A Level standard or equivalent and will have practical experience and knowledge gained from study within a creative arts area e.g. Printmaking / Letterpress / Screen Print / Ceramics.
You will be required to order and manage stock materials and produce pricing information for our Moodle (VLE) and therefore must be numerate, literate and accurate with English.
Additionally, the role will directly support other colleagues within and outside of the Faculty in the preparation of materials for Faculty workshops, as well as in supporting students and staff in Faculty shows and exhibitions.
This is a part-time post working 20 hours per week (4 hours per day Monday-Friday) 36 weeks per year on a permanent basis.
