The Department of the Built Environment of the School of Art, Design and Architecture at the University of Plymouth wishes to appoint an outstanding and inspirational academic in Building Engineering to complement and build on its existing research and teaching strengths.
You will be expected to make a significant contribution to the teaching of the recently started undergraduate course in Architectural Engineering and the postgraduate course in High Performance Buildings. You will also be teaching on the undergraduate courses in Building Surveying and Construction Management. We are looking to appoint a candidate with a dedication to the delivery of high quality teaching in areas such as such as building services engineering, building technology and building physics. Other administration duties to support the management of the courses would be expected.
You will have a doctoral degree and a scholarly reputation, demonstrated by a good record of high quality journal publications in the field. You will be expected to contribute to the Department's next REF submission. Previous experience in winning external funding in the built environment field and a track record of working with industry through research or other partnerships will be highly valued. We would generally expect applicants for Lecturer level to have post-doctoral experience. Membership of CIBSE or similar is desirable.

This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week on a permanent basis, starting 1 June 2018.
