The University of Plymouth (UoP) has exciting opportunities to be part of a new, progressive, and cutting-edge area of research as part of its Centre for Health Technology. The eHealth Productivity and Innovation in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly (EPIC) project is funded until 2023 by the European Regional Development Fund. EPIC has already had considerable success in developing the eHealth sector in Cornwall. We are looking to replace two team members who have moved on to other posts.
The posts are as follows:
Post 1 EPIC Research Fellow in eHealth (Data Science or Robotics) School of Engineering Computing and Maths and School of Nursing and Midwifery
Post 2 EPIC Research Fellow in eHealth (Knowledge Mobilisation) Peninsula Medical School and School of Nursing and Midwifery

You will work with a large network of academics, SMEs, health and social care sector, charities, students, finance and other organisations to further develop the eHealth sector in this rural and coastal area. Applications from people wishing to job share, or other flexible arrangements are welcome. All posts will involve travel within Cornwall. A current full driving licence and willingness to travel is desirable as you may be required to travel to remote areas not easily accessible by public transport.
You will undertake research and evaluation, plan and deliver workshops and stakeholder events, undertake fieldwork at sites across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, plan and collaboratively write academic papers and reports as well as material for audiences of practitioners or policy makers. You will attend and present at relevant conferences. You will have a track record of working with academic and non-academic project partners alike. Experience in eHealth and a knowledge of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly is a major advantage.
You would normally possess or be about to complete a relevant PhD for your post. Both posts are to start as soon as possible.
RF Data Science or Robotics: This post ends 30th June 2023. The first three months will be working with Kernow Clinical Commissioning Group under the supervision of Professor Shangming Zhou using machine learning on a large linked data set. Thereafter you will be working with the wider EPIC team on data science and/or robotics projects for promoting eHealth.
RF Knowledge Mobilisation: This post ends 31st March 2023. You should have an understanding of social sciences and research methods, health technologies, the health and social care sectors and have a track record of inter-disciplinary working in collaboration with a diverse range of project partners. You will develop innovative approaches to knowledge mobilisation, maintaining successful partnerships and engagement with digital health and care businesses.
