South West National Collaborative Outreach Programme (SWNCOP) County Team Leader
Description
The SWNCOP Somerset Team Leader will be responsible for managing the Somerset outreach provision for the new South West National Collaborative Outreach Programme. This programme is funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) to encourage awareness of, and access to, Higher Education for identified individuals from target groups
in schools where progression to HE is low.
This is a unique opportunity to support the work of a collaboration of key stakeholders, comprising all the universities and FE/HE colleges in Devon, Cornwall and Somerset. You will be responsible for supervising the provision of core outreach projects in Somerset, in line with strategy and direction from the SWNCOP Manager. Relationship-building with internal stakeholders, in particular with the County Team Leaders for Devon and Cornwall is central to the role. You will liaise with external stakeholders including target schools in Somerset and other partner organisations.
The Somerset County Team Leader will be responsible for governance of the SWNCOP project at county level, and will chair the SWNCOP Somerset Steering Group.
Line management of this post will be through University of Plymouth, as the lead institution for the SWNCOP. The main base for this post will be at Bridgwater & Taunton College and there will be a requirement to travel within the South West.
This is a full-time post working 37 hours per week on a fixed term basis until December 2018.
Clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service will be required for this position.
