As a result of its successful bid for additional undergraduate medical student numbers, the Peninsula Medical School is seeking three additional, outstanding teaching-focussed lecturers to join its innovative core education team. Our Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry (FoMD) promotes the core values of: excellent clinical education; strong social engagement; and world-class research. Within FoMD, the medical school works in close partnership with Derriford Hospital, the region's premier trauma centre and teaching hospital, and with a variety of community-based clinical partners to deliver exceptional student learning opportunities.
The Role:These three, permanent and full-time, non-clinical academic lectureship posts are teaching-focussed appointments within the Peninsula Medical School. You will be expected to contribute to and, as appropriate, co-lead the provision of stimulating learning opportunities provided to undergraduate Medicine, Radiography BSc and Physician Associate MSc students. Activities include delivering: interactive lectures, technology-enhanced life science sessions, workshops, Problem-Based Learning, academic support, Special Study Units and contributing to other interdisciplinary sessions. You will also be expected to contribute to innovative curriculum design, assessments and effective co-working with our collegiate core education team on broader aspects of curriculum development and student support. Personal scholarship/research development within the school is supported and you would join an active and friendly team of scholars and pedagogical researchers.
