The Role:
Are you an enthusiastic Life, Biomedical or Pharmaceutical Scientist looking for a challenging opportunity to develop 100% organic and natural innovative skin care products for an award winning company?
We are seeking a talented Scientist to work on a joint project under Knowledge Transfer Partnership, between Made for Life Organics and the University of Plymouth. The key objective of this role is to develop new and reformulated 100% organic and natural skincare products for sensitive and sensitized skin, including those undergoing radiotherapy and chemotherapy, using innovative new ingredients and manufacturing methods.

Based in the Health and Wellbeing Innovation Centre in Truro Cornwall, Made for Life Organics manufactures and supplies 100% organic and natural, award winning skincare and wellbeing products. These use a range of natural and organic ingredients that are suitable for even the most sensitive skin. These products are distributed via online sales and across spas within the UK and EU and consist of a range of topical products formulated to enhance their natural bioactives, nutrients and vitamins. The Candidate:
You will be recently qualified with a good first degree with a minimum 2.1 (Hons) in a relevant subject such as Pharmacy, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Biomedical, Biological/Life Science or similar and evidence of familiarity with analytical techniques is essential. A relevant post-graduate qualification such as a Master degree is highly desirable, as is experience of working in industry. Knowledge and practical experience of formulation science and techniques to standardise extracts would be advantageous, particularly if this has included experience of QA and GMP systems.
Your personal qualities will include a high degree of numeracy with well-developed statistical skills and you will be an excellent verbal and written communicator. You will be methodical, tenacious and highly motivated with the ability to lead a project from the scientific perspective. Ideally, you will have a knowledge and interest in the medicinal properties of Natural Products and an interest in developing healthy organic products in line with the 100% organic ethos of the company. An interest in developing and delivering training materials would be advantageous.
