The Associate Professor role will primarily support the leadership and delivery of the clinical associate (CAP) MSc programme team, with the potential to contribute to other programmes within the School of Psychology including the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. The post offers exciting opportunities to be involved in shaping development of a psychological workforce at a time of significant expansion for both the programme and the psychological workforce more broadly.
The Associate Professor post is a leadership opportunity that will have two main aspects, though the specific focus will be subject to negotiation. The first will be to lead the clinical learning element of the programme. This will involve the management and support of the clinical team. The second aspect will be to take on some academic leadership if the programme focusing on teaching, assessment and evaluation.
You will join a growing and innovative programme team with a wide range of specialty and skill. The CAP programme is currently being deliver remotely more broadly across the South West and South of England. Strong relationships with service leads, supervisors, service providers and service users have been generated within these areas and consultation and co-creation are central values to the programme. We also champion the importance of inclusion and diversity and take a critical and reflective position.
The CAP Programme is an Apprenticeship Degree delivered in line with the national occupational standards and is currently applying to be part of the first round of BPS accreditation. The programme is hosted within the School of Psychology which is has a suite of linked developments including an MSc Clinical Psychology programme, and a well-established Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
