The Peninsula Medical School is seeking an outstanding education-focussed anatomy lecturer to join our education team.
As part of the core education-focussed academic team, you will co-lead, develop and deliver the anatomical components of our programmes: Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (BMBS), Foundation Year BMBS, Diagnostic Radiography BSc and Physician Associate MSc. Anatomy at Peninsula is learnt using virtual dissection (Anatomage), living surface anatomy, medical imaging and a variety of technology-orientated tools to support a comprehensive library of 3D anatomical models. This approach results in an innovative and effective curriculum, without a reliance on cadaveric dissection.
You will also take on a varied education-focussed roles within the school, including both small and large-group facilitation and academic tutoring and widening participation activities. Research activity will not be a mandatory part of the role but would be encouraged for appropriately qualified and motivated candidates by mutual agreement.
The school works in close partnership with Derriford Hospital, the region's premier trauma centre and teaching hospital, and with a variety of community-based clinical partners. This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week, and is fixed-term to cover a period of maternity leave which is anticipated to be for approximately 9 months. The start date will be February 2020, or as soon as possible thereafter.
