The University of Plymouth is looking to appoint a Senior Technician to provide maternity cover in our LABplus Resource Centre.
LABplus is a flexible learning facility, designed to support students with the development of their laboratory, fieldwork and practical skills within the Faculty of Science and Engineering and School of Biomedical Sciences. The facility currently houses a range of equipment and over 100 bespoke resources each containing materials, models and specimens.
The role primarily involves managing and maintaining the facility, alongside providing support and assistance to students and other users. This maternity appointment will involve liaising with academic and technical staff to design new educational resources for students. In particular, the development of digital resources to support laboratory and field activities.
You will have demonstrable technical experience and the skills to develop educational resources to a high standard within a Higher Education setting. Full details are contained within the Job Description of the role.

This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week, and is fixed-term to cover a period of maternity leave which is anticipated to be for approximately 9 months.
