The Sustainability Hub: Low Carbon Devon (LCD) project will provide an exciting new catalyst for low-carbon economic growth in Devon. The -5 year, £2.6m programme (supported by an investment from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)) will enable Devon-based organisations to access research, business support, and engage with the University of Plymouth around the low-carbon agenda. The LCD Industrial Research Fellow in Energy Efficient Buildings (Behaviour Change) will investigate energy saving practices within non-domestic buildings across Devon. The post aims to help Devon based enterprises to better understand their energy use using digital technologies connected to metering technologies/building management systems. The aim is to support behaviour change of employees and visitors (building users) using information technologies.

You must have a research background in energy efficiency in buildings and an interest in digital technologies used to reduce energy use and change occupants’ behaviour. You must also have the ability to design and run interventions, as well as build contacts and participate in internal and external networks for the exchange of information and collaboration.

This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week on a fixed term basis for a period of 2 years due to funding. The anticipated start date is 1st September 2020. Please note that this position requires engagement with various stakeholders across Devon and so the exact start date may vary depending on the social distancing impact of Coronavirus (COVID-19).
A current full driving licence and willingness to travel is essential as you will be required to travel to remote areas not easily accessible by public transport.
