The UKCRC-registered Peninsula Clinical Trials Unit (PenCTU) conducts national and international randomised controlled clinical trials and other health research studies in a variety of clinical fields that directly influence clinical and healthcare practice. It is a multi-disciplinary team of trial managers, data managers, statisticians, researchers, clinicians and developers. An exciting Developer or Senior Developer opportunity has arisen within the team for the development of systems meeting regulatory guidelines.
In this role you will:
* Be responsible for and lead on the technical design, development and support of clinical trial data management systems, including web-based electronic data capture (EDC)
* Collaborate with trial study staff to deliver and develop the portfolio of trials
* Liaise with central university IT systems staff
* Mentor junior development staff
* Contribute to the continual improvement of in house bespoke and integration of commercial EDC system (REDCap Cloud)
* Lead on and shape the documentation of standard operations and procedures
Desirable skills and experience:
* Good working knowledge of MS .Net Framework technologies and associated development languages
* Good working knowledge of web-based developments using HTML and CSS
* Management of relational database management systems using SQL
* Excellent communications skills
* Prioritisation of activities in a busy environment
* Recognised IT qualification or experience
* Experience of managing people
* Previous relevant development experience within a Pharmaceutical, CRO, Biotech company or a clinical trial unit

This is a 0.8 to 1.0 FTE position working 29.6 to 37 hours per week on a permanent basis.
