AiPBAND (An Integrated Platform for Developing Brain Cancer Diagnostics Techniques) is an Innovative Training Network (ITN) funded under the EU H2020 Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions to train fourteen Early Stage Researchers (ESRs). It brings together leading academic and industrial experts in Europe and China, and build a triple-i (interdisciplinary, intersectoral and international) research & training platform with the required multidisciplinary expertise and cutting-edge technologies.
We are looking for a high calibre ESR to undertake research and development on an innovative AiPBAND business model, to underpin effective business strategy development and commercial section. Relationships between business model qualifying factors (such as value, cost structure, potential revenue sources) and enabling factors (including entrepreneurial attributes, market uptake evaluation, business dynamics and sustainability) will be investigated, so that the innovative AiPBAND business model will be market-oriented, resilient and robust to guide business strategy development. You will be expected to register as a staff candidate PhD student at the University of Plymouth on satisfying the enrolment criteria of the Doctoral College.
You should hold a first degree with minimum of 2.1 in a relevant area (e.g. business management, social science, or related discipline), or in science but with a clear interest in business and experience working in a business environment. Applicants with a relevant Master degree would be particularly welcome.
ITN applicants must comply with the Marie-Curie mobility requirement: At the time of recruitment, you must not have lived in the UK for more than 12 out of the past 36 months. Candidates for ESR positions are expected to have less than 4 years of full-time equivalent research experience at the selection time and have not been awarded a doctoral degree.
This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week on a fixed term contract of three years starting 1st June 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter.
