University of Plymouth has a vacancy for a Mental Health Worker to join the Student Wellbeing Services team which forms part of the Student Gateway Learning Support and Wellbeing (LSW) team.

You will be an experienced Mental Health Worker able to deliver specialist crisis intervention and on-going support to students experiencing mental ill-health. You will work to ensure that students with enduring or acute mental health difficulties receive sufficient and appropriate levels of assessment, practical and psychological support (within the University and externally where appropriate) to enable them to successfully engage with their studies and university life.
You will report to the Student Wellbeing Services Team Leader and will work collaboratively with colleagues in the Student Wellbeing Services and Disability Services teams, you will manage a caseload of students experiencing a wide-range of short- and long-term mental health difficulties and will be active in promoting mental wellbeing on campus. This post may require out of hours working and working on a Saturday.
Educated to degree level and with a relevant professional qualification, you will have experience of case work with adults with mental health difficulties including assessment, risk management and brief intervention. You must be able to prioritise and work flexibly to deadlines, IT literate and committed to collaborative working.
You will be an excellent professional who is able to demonstrate flair, flexibility and self-confidence. You will have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills and a proven ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week on a permanent basis.
This vacancy will involve working with children and/or vulnerable adults and any appointment will be subject to receipt of clearance for the Protection of Children from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
