This exciting, developmental and new post in the Faculty of Business will be responsible for leading on the delivery and continuous development of a customer focused, joined-up, cost effective and efficient student-facing service in the Faculty of Business.
The main areas of accountability are:
Operations: Overseeing student reception and other student-facing services in the Faculty (e.g. student enrichment and digital skills support)
Engagement: Driving student engagement in central support services, societies and initiatives
Procurement: Liaising, negotiating and procuring specialist input and expertise from central services into the Faculty of Business to maximise the resource available in terms of depth and reach
Planning: Operational planning, delivery and review of a Faculty-wide annual student engagement action plan and calendar of events
Service Design: Active development in the design, development and review of a new student engagement 'space' in the Cookworthy building, as part of a major capital programme
Communication and Marketing: Active promotion, marketing, communication and feedback with and to students
Innovation: Creating, innovating and implementing new projects and programmes of work to maximise student engagement
You will work across this broad portfolio to enhance student engagement to enhance student success, the student experience and overall graduate outcomes.
You will manage a committed team of staff to support the strategic portfolios of, amongst others, our Faculty Lead (Student Experience) and Associate Dean (Employability) in turn supporting the overall delivery of our Faculty 3 year plan. However, just as important will be working, collaborating and as one-team with the University central support services to further establish, oversee and develop mechanisms to ensure that students can navigate and access a comprehensive, high quality and customer friendly set of local and central support services.
You will be an experienced operations manager within HE and student service related area. You will require a high degree of organisation, communication, team-working and aligning a disparate portfolio of activity towards a common set of goals.
