We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented Developer to work on an innovative collaboration between Gendall Design Limited and University of Plymouth. This is a unique opportunity for a qualified individual to work on a joint project under Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, between Gendall Design Limited and the University of Plymouth. The key objective of this role is to develop an interactive voice-driven experience using network/cloud-based Machine learning and Natural Language Processing algorithms.
You will have a good first degree with a Minimum 2.1 honours in a relevant discipline with demonstrable experience in developing software systems. A further higher degree, PhD/MPhil relating to Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Processing or a related field is highly desirable. Industrial experience in application development and experience in Networking / Cloud development, Systems architecture, with the ability to problem solve, innovate, test and refine solutions is also highly desirable.
Knowledge and practical experience of software development, database integration, developing in web application languages and the ability to handle large data sets is essential. Knowledge and experience of developing applications using ML/AI and NLP techniques is also desirable.
It is essential to be a good team player and be comfortable working collaboratively with a wider team and external clients. You will be highly numerate with well-developed analytical skills. You will need to be methodical and tenacious with a proven ability to lead a project from the technical perspective. You will have good attention to detail and have good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to convey technical concepts to a non-technical audience would be highly desirable.

This is a full-time position working on a 24 month fixed term basis, the contract is fixed term due to funding and will be based in Falmouth, Cornwall.
