The University of Plymouth, a leading university in the south west, is seeking to recruit an Information Security Manager to head up the Information Security Team, part of the Technology and Information Services (TIS) Service.

The Information Security Team is responsible for managing information security risk, and supporting information security compliance and governance across the University by providing expert leadership and advice regarding all aspects of IT security.
You will manage a dynamic and responsive team, maintaining and developing IT security improvements and governance. You will drive innovation in all aspects of IT security and be given autonomy to define the actions to meet information security goals.
You will bring a thorough understanding, knowledge and experience of information security risk management processes for information security; designing and assessing security controls, plans and documentation; and formulating IT security assessment plans and auditing policies and compliance to standards.
You will also bring to the role knowledge of good security practice covering the physical and logical aspects of information products, systems confidentiality, integrity and availability; along with a good understanding of IT security policies and all relevant legislation and emerging threats and trends in information security.

This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week on a permanent basis.
