The University is now seeking to appoint an additional member of its legal team to provide expert services and advice in the commercial field (with particular emphasis on research projects and intellectual property) and to provide general assistance to the University Solicitor.
Reporting to the University Solicitor, the appointee will also support the University's specialist advisers in negotiating a range of research, IP and commercial agreements, develop the University's standard form agreements and assist with the management of the University's external legal advisers and collaborators.
The successful candidate will have a legal background, a detailed understanding of, and practical experience in, research projects/collaborations and IP commercialisation, and the ability to interpret and apply legislation and case law relevant to the University.
