The Research and Innovation Directorate plays a crucial role in supporting the University to secure funding for research across the breadth of the institution’s portfolio. This includes a diverse range of disciplines from the creative arts and business to environmental sciences and medicine. We work closely with academics from across the University in support of our ambitious institutional strategy around research excellence, with an aim to increase our research income significantly by 2030.
We are looking for an experienced Research and Innovation Contracts Manager to join our team. Working closely with a team of Research Funding Managers, you will play a key role in enabling research funding and collaboration by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and collaboration agreements, ensuring that they are put in place in a timely and effective manner, reflecting the needs of the University and those of the funder. These will include research funding contracts, multi-party collaboration agreements, and sub-contracting arrangements involving academics and facilities managers from across the University.
You will have a proven track record of negotiating both grant and contract research related contracts in a university or similar research-intensive environment, including negotiating contracts or agreements with private or public sector clients. Working directly with academics and professional service colleagues from across the University, as well as external partners, a good record of building positive internal and external relationships, and exceptional communication skills are also required.

This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week on a permanent basis.
