This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new interdisciplinary European research project (H2020-funded NetHATE). You will be employed in the School of Law, Criminology and Government at the University of Plymouth (www.plymouth.ac.uk), working with Dr Zoë James and seconded to the University of Limerick and the nationally recognized civil society organization, Friends, Families and Travellers.
The Role:
This Marie Sklodowska Curie Fellowship research position will train you to obtain a highly competitive and applied PhD. The research focuses on the perpetration of hate against Roma. Specifically, working in an interdisciplinary European research team, you will investigate the perpetration of hate against Roma within the context of neoliberal global capitalism. This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Sklodowska-Curie grant NetHATE.
You will work primarily with Dr Zoë James(School of Law, Criminology and Government, University of Plymouth) but will be tightly integrated with the rest of the team.
The overall project team is multi-disciplinary, and is based across different European countries. The post holder will be expected to collaborate extensively with the other colleagues and particularly with the team based in Limerick, Ireland. The post will involve travel to collaborating countries for research as well as training and secondment.

This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week on a fixed-term basis 3 years due to the nature of the funding.
